AIB Superleague Update

With the end of the college year fast approaching, it also means we are coming to the closing stages in the AIB Superleague.

With a massive 58 teams competing across 3 divisions this year has been extremely successful, and come the end of the season 646 games will have been played across the three divisions and the two cups.Saucepan Champions

Congratulations to Sauce Pan Celtic, who were tonight crowned AIB Superleague Saturday Premier division champions with two games still to play. Having played 16 games so far this season, they have won 14, drawn once and lost just the once. They are also the top scorers across all of the divisions averaging 4 goals a game. With this being their sixth year playing in the league they will be delighted to have finally overcome the hurdle of winning the league, and will be hoping to add to their silverware over the coming weeks as they are in the second round of the AIB Cup against Pimp Juice this coming Saturday.

AIB SL Division 1

The Saturday Division 1 title looks set to go down to the wire with 6 teams within 3 points of the current leaders LA Galaxy Caramel.

Elsewhere, the Sunday Division looks like a two horse race with All Priests over 75 having a six point lead over Futbolito with Futbolito having two games in hand, with All Priests still having four games remaining.

The AIB League Cup has reached the quarter final stage with Futbolito and Colonel Getafe both looking to continue their quest for the double!

The first round of fixtures for the AIB Cup has just been completed and the last 32 is being played this coming week. After their league triumph this week Sauce Pan Celtic’s will look to continue their drive for the league and cup double in their match against fellow veterans Pimp Juice on Saturday.

With just over 3 weeks of the season remaining there is still plenty to play for and all teams are reminded to keep a close eye on the fixtures pages and should also note that they may have more than one game in the week depending on the number of games they still have to play and the different competitions they are still in.

Best of luck to everyone over the remaining games!
