A League final set for next Tuesday
UCD have been given home advantage for the A League final, with the game against Bohemians scheduled for Tuesday 11 November at 7:45pm in the Bowl.
Limerick take hammering
UCD's A Team warmed up for the A League final with a 9-0 hammering of Limerick 37 to complete the group stage of the competition. Goals rained in, with two from Dave McMillan, two from Matthews and one each from keeper Billy Brennan (another penalty), Seán Harding, Shane Duggan and John Reilly. UCD face Bohs in the final on Tuesday week.
A League final opposition revealed
Bohemians have qualified for the final of the A League and will take on UCD on the weekend of 9 November for the reserve trophy. The Bohs sealed their place with a 1-0 win over Derry at the weekend; they are now seven points clear of Finn Harps in second with two games to go. Bohs have 29 points from their 12 games - two more than UCD - but have scored 28 and conceded 11 compared to the Students' impressive 40 goals for and just 8 against. The venue for the final has yet to be decided.
Champions once more!
The format may have changed, but UCD have triumphed in the reserve league for the fourth time in six seasons after a thoroughly entertaining 2-1 extra time win over Bohemians in the A League final in the Bowl last night.
