The format may have changed, but UCD have triumphed in the reserve league for the fourth time in six seasons after a thoroughly entertaining 2-1 extra time win over Bohemians in the A League final in the Bowl last night.

A Championship: UCD 6-0 Galway United

galwayUCD started their A Championship campaign with a 6-0 win over Galway United. In the blistering Belfield sun Galway had no answer for UCD’s incisive football. From the very first whistle UCD took the ball down and made their opponents chase their shadows.

A Championship: Limerick 0-4 UCD

ucd2 games, ten goals scored, none conceded. It’s been an encouraging start to the A Championship by UCD as they go in search of further silverware. Galway fell to the Students in the first round of games 6-0 and it was their near neighbours, Limerick, who fared slightly better but still ended up on the wrong end of a 4-0 hammering.

Leinster Senior League Sunday Senior 1 B

UCD AFC's Leinster Senior League Sunday Senior 1 B team compete in the fourth tier of the Leinster Senior League. The team has won the Vera Deane Cup and the Moore Cup in the last three seasons and will compete in the 2010/11 season for the 3rd year in Senior football.

The Leinster Senior League Sunday team play their home games on the Foster Avenue pitch beside the old First Team ground, Belfield Park.

In recent years this team has provided many players for the UCD AFC Airtricity League squad with Evan McMillan going on to become Club Captain. Michael Leahy, Paul O'Conor, Billy Brennan and David McMillan are just some of the players that have started their UCD AFC careers with the Leinster Senior League Squad before going on to appear in the First Team ranks.

UCD v SHAMROCK ROVERS

placeholderShamrock Rovers return to the Bowl in search of Airtricty Premier League points just four days after securing a 1-0 victory over UCD in the EA Sports Cup 2nd round tie. The speedy return makes Friday's game an enticing prospect. In the Cup Hoops fielded nine of the team that beat Galway 2-0 the previous Friday and, after Gary Twigg scored an early goal, the signs were ominous for Russell's team of youngsters, only three of whom started in Bray.
