No Luck For LSL Saturday Major 1

UCD AFC 0-1 Sacred Heart

LSL

UCD came out of the blocks quickest and controlled the game with their precise passing. Jack Doyle, Tristan Dent, Rob Keogh and John Naughton broke up any attacks that Sacred Heart threw at them.

However, UCD struggled to create any clear cut chances for the amount of possession they had but created a great chance when Tristan Dent floaed a ball over the opposing right full’s head and Darren Muldowney ran to the by-line and squared for Alan Sutton who hit it first time at goal but his effort was inches wide.

Sacred Heart got the only goal of the game with the 35th minute when a long kick out by their keeper was first won by Jack Doyle but the Sacred Heart midfielder picked up the breaking ball and Tristan Dent cut out his cross but could only divert it out to the left where the right winger picked up the ball and squared it to the charging centre mid who had all the time in the world to place the ball into the corner.

The second half was much the same as the first with UCD controlling the game but again could not create a clear chance. Robbie Murray and Niall Hanley broke up anything Sacred Heart had and they drove at the defence but could not get that final ball into the strikers feet.

Sahhed Ogunfowora and Muldowney were linking up well with Murray and Hanley as the half went on but the Hearts defence knocked back anything the created. The final whistle went and for the second week running UCD dominated a game but came away with nothing.

UCD Team: Barber, Doyle, Keogh, Dent, Naughton (Hickey), Ogunfowora, Murray, Hanley, Muldowney, McDonald (Suen), Sutton
