DSC_0076Queens ran out comfortable 2-0 winners over DCU in the first Preliminary Round game to finish in the Crowley Cup. Queens struck first in the first half through Eoin Farnan and though DCU struck the post towards the end of the first half, it was Queens who had the better of the chances. The second half saw DCU take the upper hand as they pushed forward but could not find the equaliser as they were hit on the break with a goal from Kieran O'Hare. The game finished 2-0 and Queens will now meet Trinity in the next round.

Trinity College overcame the challenge of UCC following extra times and penalties. UCC took the lead in the first half through Fergus McDonald and held their lead for the majority of the game until Trinity struck to drag the game into extra time. Joe O'Connor scored the goal that saw the scores remain level in extra time and it was Trinity that prevailed, 5-4 on penalties.
