With the start of the new League of Ireland season just around the corner, Ireland legend Packie Bonner was the special guest at Saturday night's UCD AFC Alumni Dinner in the Clayton Hotel at the Burlington.
In a questions and answers session with Peter Collins, Packie spoke about his time with Celtic, his memories of the Irish set up and of course his memorable penalty save against Romania in at Italia '90 to send Ireland into the World Cup Quarter Final. He also spoke about the improvements in the League of Ireland, and the importance of the under 17s and under 19s leagues as well as the value of the UCD Scholarship Programme.
UCD would like to thank Maples and Calder, MCD, all of our sponsors and everyone who attended the event for their continued generous support in helping us to develop some of the best young players in the country both on and off the field.
