UCD AFC made the trip down the N11 to the Shanganagh Summer Project.
The sun shone as John Kelly, Chris Mulhall, Sean Russell and Bill Phelan pulled into the car park of the Shanganagh House. The imposing building seemed deserted as the lads climbed the steps. Deserted it was as all the children were outside waiting for the arrival of their favourite Airtricity League players. For the 3rd successive year UCD AFC and the Shanganagh Summer Project have joined forces to bring a days football to the boys and girls of the fantastic project.
The welcome the lads received was incredible as they went about setting up the drills and games to keep the children entertained. The skill level and impeccable behaviour was a credit to the wonderful work done by all the volunteers of the project. With the shooting, dribbling and passing drills out of the way it was time for a lunch break followed by the serious business of winning football matches. Enthusiasm was in plentiful supply as each player, boy and girl, gave their all getting into the spirit of the day.
A wonderful day was enjoyed by all of the UCD AFC players and it was a great opportunity to support a very worthwhile Summer Project.
