Pegasus FC was founded in 1969 as the official Graduate Club of UCD. As part of the UCD Football Club, Pegasus played together for the first time during the UCD 75th Anniversary International Tournament during Easter 1969.

The team participating in the international competition was made up of recent graduates and played two matches, losing both by small margins. The winged horse had taken flight.

After this initial step it was decided to apply for membership of the Leinster Senior League for the season 1970/71. The application was accepted in June 1970. By our fourth year, Pegasus had risen to the top Leinster Senior League and a period of consolidation took place with a big influx of new graduates from UCD.

Pegasus Football Club is now the longest established club in the Leinster Senior League, and is developing and expanding through the improvement of training and playing facilities for the club and further progression of our links with UCD Football Club.

Present Day:

Today, Pegasus boasts three teams, each of whom compete in the Leinster Senior League. Our home pitch is shared with UCD Football Club in Belfield, where our twice weekly training sessions are also based.

Pegasus FC has at present over 80 active players in addition to a vast number of alumni players. The club has been fielding up to 5 teams for the last 30 years, the majority of whom are graduates of UCD, who have maintained their support to the club over the years and are very receptive to lending support when required.

All players and affiliate members are actively kept in touch with the club through our Website www.pegasusfc.com and our regular email bulletins and newsletters. Team Details:

We have three teams, competing in the following leagues:

1st Team: Leinster Senior League Sunday Senior Division 1
2nd Team: Leinster Senior League Saturday Major 1 Division
3rd Team: Leinster Senior League Sunday Division 2

All teams also compete in a variety of cups, including the FAI Senior Cup, and FAI Intermediate Cup, the two premier cup competitions in the country.

Following a strong performance last season by the club, we are now looking to take it on to a new level, increasing the professional approach of the club, both on and off the pitch. We have a highly-qualified coaching staff, and a hard-working committee.

Our pre-season training programme for the 2008/2009 season kicks off on Tuesday, July 1st at the training area just inside the Fosters Avenue Gate of UCD. All new members are welcome.

If you have any queries, please feel free to call Brian Duffy, Chairman of the club, at any time on 0868190633.
