UCD AFC welcomed Clubs from all over Dublin to the First UCD AFC Blitz of 2012.
19 Schoolboy teams from clubs all over Dublin descended on Belfield over the last two Sundays to take part in the first Schoolboy Blitz of 2012. Martin Russell was on hand to welcome them with members of his first team squad. Paul O'Conor, Danny Fallon, Barry McCabe, Tom O'Halloran, Mick Leahy, John Kelly and Gavin Colton helped Martin put the boys through their paces in a 30 minute warm up before they were unleashed on the 7 a side courts to take part in the 7 a side matches.
Lakelands FC, Mt Merrion YFC, Broadford Rovers, Beechwood FC, Esker, Cabinteely, Park Celtic and Shankill FC were all represented on what proved to be two very exciting days. The level of skill and commitment on show was a testament to the hard work that the coaches at all these clubs put in and everyone at UCD AFC was delighted to host such a wonderful exhibition of footballing talent.
UCD AFC will always be synonymous with encouraging young talent and it was wonderful to see such talented players enjoying the beautiful game.
