UCD AFC have racked up two more wins in the Under 20 League following wins against FC Carlow and Waterford United.
FC Carlow 0-2 UCD AFC
It has been an eventful number of weeks for UCD AFC's under 20 squad. First up they took on FC Carlow and returned to Dublin with three points thanks in part to a goal each from Samir Belhout and Michael Whelan. Barry McCabe received a red card following his second yellow and Mark McGinley was called on several times to ensure Carlow failed to break through.
UCD AFC: McGinley, Scallon, McNamara, C O'Brolchain, Ledwith, McCabe, Falllon, Whelan, Russell, Kielty (B O'Brolchain), Belhout.
UCD AFC 2-0 Waterford United
It was a mix of experience and youth, if that is possible in an under 20 game. First team regulars, Paul Corry, Ciaran Nangle and Keith Ward turned out for UCD's under 20 team and put in a fine performance. Complete domination of the visitors to the UCD Bowl was not reflected in the scoreline as UCD went in 0-0 at half time. The tempo was increased after the break and a goal of real quality was served up as Keith Ward controlled a low cross before backheeling the ball to Paul Corry who finished expertly. Keith Ward turned finisher later when he left the keeper with no chance to ensure UCD built on their recent good form in the Under 20 Championship.
