Hero Hurley Rescues Late Point

U19 Elite Division, UCD AFC 1-1 Bray Wanderers (Dean Hurley)

Deano

UCD grabbed a last gasp equaliser to secure a well deserved point against Bray Wanderers at The UCD Bowl on Monday night.

UCD started brightly and striker Ola Adeyemo hit the crossbar with an excellent shot.

Then UCD won a penalty and Adeyemo stepped up but the Bray goalkeeper made a brilliant save to tip the ball around the post.

Bray then went 1-0 up through Tom Lahiff who bundled the ball into the net after UCD failed to clear a corner.

It was all UCD for the rest of the game as they produced attack after attack as Bray defended deep and rarely attacked with any real purpose.

UCD had the majority of the ball but were finding it difficult to create any good chances until Dean Hurley popped up with a 92nd minute equaliser.

Sean Coyle's brilliant cross and glanced into the net by Hurley to secure a point for the boys in blue.

UCD now sit 2nd in the U19 Elite Division, two points behind leaders Shamrock Rovers ahead of the Christmas break.
