Preview: Shelbourne vs UCD AFC

Kick-off: 7.45pm, Tolka Park, Friday 4th May 2018SSE-Airtricity-League

After the disappointment of Tuesday's Leinster Senior Cup defeat against Longford Town, we are back in First Division action on Friday night as we face a Dublin Derby against Shelbourne FC. Collie O'Neill is expecting another tough challenge on Friday against an in form Shelbourne side who will be looking to close the gap at the top of the table.

"I'm expecting it to be another tough game on Friday. Shels are in great form, and there's plenty of positivity around the club with the new investors, and former UCD scholar David O'Connor coming in as CEO. I would like to wish David all the best with his new role."

With one round of fixtures now finished, it has been a positive start to the season for Collie O'Neill's side, however there is a long way to go and plenty of games to be played over the coming months. Seven wins and a draw from the opening nine games has given Collie's side a four point lead at the top of the table.

"We are in good form ourselves and will be looking to pick up another positive result. Our first half performance against Wexford was very good, however it dropped off in the second half and we are going to have to be more consistent on Friday if we are to come away with a result."

Collie has a number of injuries to contend with for Friday's game with Timmy Molloy (knee), and Neil Farrugia (Collarbone) joined by Evan Osam on the sidelines after he picked up a minor thigh injury on Tuesday night. Greg Sloggett is a doubt for the game and faces a late fitness test ahead of the game.

Injured: Timmy Molloy (knee), Neil Farrugia (broken collarbone), Evan Osam (thigh)
Doubtful: Greg Sloggett
Suspended: None
