UCDSOCCER.COM previews tonight's away game against St. Patrick's Athletic

 UCD AFC travel to play St. Patrick’s Athletic in the Airtricity League Premier Division on Monday (Oct 1^st)

The game Richmond Park has a 7.45pm kick off. It was due to take place on Friday Oct 5^th but has been moved due to St. Pats being in FAI Ford Cup semi final action.

Last time out UCD drew 2-2 with Bohemians at The Bowl on Friday, goals from Danny Ledwith and Paul O’Conor shot deflected in off Dave McMillan had UCD 2-0 up but goals from Dave Scully in the 91^st and 94^th minutes saw Bohs grab a draw.

UCD had won their previous four league games in a row.

UCD and St. Pats have played three times already this season, St. Pats won 2-1 in the EA Sports Cup and then 2-0 in the league both at Richmond Park in April.

The sides played out a 1-1 draw at The Bowl in the league in July.

Injuries:

Goalkeeper John Kelly needs surgery groin injury and will miss the rest of the season.

Tyrone McNelis and Tomas Boyle as doubts having not trained this week while Sean Russell is struggling with a groin injury and striker Cillian Morrison has a swollen ankle after returning to training after a long injury lay off.

Manager Martin Russell has an otherwise fully fit squad to select from.

St. Pats are missing three players through suspension, James Chambers, Pat Flynn and former UCD midfielder Greg Bolger.

Looking ahead to the game, Manager Martin Russell gave his thoughts:

“We played very well in the first half against Bohemians on Friday night but were unable to play as well in the second half and let them back into the game but we can take positives from the game.”

“St. Pats have been one of the best teams we have played this season but we are hoping for another good performance and result to keep up our unbeaten record.”

“Both sides will try and play football in the right way which should make for an exciting game.”
