Sligo Rovers v UCD AFC, The Showgrounds, Saturday 14th Aug, KO 19.45

UCD will be without midfielders Greg Bolger and Paul Corry for the trip to Sligo on Saturday.   Bolger is serving the first of a two game additional ban following his red card against Bray Wanderers last month and Corry is ruled out on medical advice after suffering concussion following the bad cut to his head which led to his departure for stitching after only six minutes of last week’s match in Dundalk.

Sean Harding and David McMillan are still on their way back from long term injury but the good news is that Brian Shortall may be fit enough for duties on the bench.   Manager Martin Russell will make a late selection.

“We always enjoy going to Sligo,” says Russell, “Great playing surface and Paul Cook’s lads play good football so it’s always a challenge.   We were up there recently and lost the re-arranged fixture in the last minute of added time.   This time we’ll be looking for an equally good game but with a result in our favour.”
