Preview: UCD vs Finn Harps

Friday night sees SSE Airtricity League First Division action return to the UCD Bowl, and they don't come much bigger than this as Finn Harps are the visitors in a crucial title decider. Finn Harps Family Fun Day

We are currently sitting five points clear at the top of the table with two games left to play, knowing a point will secure the First Division title. However with second place Finn Harps the visitors on Friday before a tough trip next week to promotion chasing Longford Town, Collie knows his side will be up against it against a talented Finn Harps side.

"Friday's a huge game for us. Even though it's first against second, we're not treating the game any differently than we have all our other games this year. We know it's not going to be easy. Our games against Finn Harps have been very close this year, they will be confident of securing the three points and bringing it down to the last game of the season. They're a good footballing side, they're on a good run but so are we, it'll be a good contest."

Last weekend saw us secure our Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup semi final place for the first time since 2007 to continue a brilliant season with a 2-1 victory over Waterford FC at the UCD Bowl. We played very well for large portions of the game, and thoroughly deserved the victory thanks to goals from Conor Davis and Timmy Molloy. The goal was Conor Davis' sixth goal since joining the club at the end of July, and his five goals in August including a hat trick against Drogheda United has seen him nominated for the SWAI Soccer Writers Player of the Month for August.

FAI Cup Semi final:

The draw for the semi final of the cup took place on Soccer Republic on Monday night, and it will be the Premier Division leaders vs the First Division leaders in the semi final as we have been drawn away to Dundalk FC in what will be a very tough tie. Collie knows it will be a tough ask for his side to progress but it is a challenge they are looking forward to in what will be another tie where we will be going in as big underdogs.

"We played very well against Waterford in the cup last week, moved the ball quickly, and created some good chances. It's important we focus on our own game, play the way we know we can, and if we can do that then we have every chance.

The draw against Dundalk is a tough one. They are top of the league, and having to go there won't be easy, but at this stage of the draw no game would be! No one will expect us to win, just like no one expected us to beat Waterford. We will be looking forward to the game and be able to go into it with the pressure off and have a free run at it, give it a go and see where that can get us."

Team News:

Darragh Corcoran is Collie's only injury concern ahead of Friday nights game as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury, and there are no suspensions for the game.
