Michael Higgins RIP

It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the passing of our great friend, Michael Higgins. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to his beloved partner Iseult McCarthy, his children Helen, Paul, Hugh and Eoin and extended family Emer, grandchildren, Mary, sons and daughters-in-law, his brothers and sisters and all his friends and colleagues.Michael Higgins

Michael was a loyal servant of the club and will be sadly missed by us and all that heard him make the announcements at all our home matches in UCD. Michael was a true gentleman and was always available, even at short notice. Michael was looking forward to working with us again next season. He is a huge loss to the club – always well prepared, professionally delivered and with a tone that fitted perfectly in the grounds of the institution he represented. He was a proud man who believed in doing his job to the highest standards and we were very lucky to have shared a long part of his life with him.

Funeral Arrangements are as follows:

Reposing in Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum on Wednesday afternoon from 2 o'clock prior to his removal to the Church of St. Thérése, Mount Merrion due 5.30 o'clock. Funeral Mass on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in the Church of St. Thérése, Mount Merrion, followed by burial in Labane Cemetery, Ardrahan, Co. Galway.

May he rest in peace
