A lack of cutting edge up front saw UCD drop two points against a Harps side drawing for the sixth time in eight games on their travels this season. Read More...
UCD v Arklow was a tie of coincidences. In the last round, of course, Arklow had beaten UCD, and their reward for that was a game against UCD. The last time a lower-league team came to Belfield for a Cup game with no keeper, UCD made heavy weather of it, going 1-0 down before coming back to win 3-1. That was against Limerick in 2006, and when Arklow’s reserve keeper (their first-choice keeper being suspended due to a dismissal against UCD in the previous round) didn’t travel to avoid injury ahead of a GAA game the same weekend, Arklow were in Limerick’s boat. As in the previous round, Willie Doyle went in nets; as against Limerick, Arklow went 1-0 up before eventually succumbing on a 3-1 scoreline. Read More...
